We encourage you to sit with our volunteers while they repair. It’s social, it’s an opportunity to learn something.
We can give advice and help you find spares
What can we repair?
Electrical
All kinds of household, kitchen and gardening electricals, e.g. kettles toasters, lamps, hedge trimmers, hoovers etc.
Bikes
Road bikes, mountain bikes, tricycles and tandems. Children’s or adult size.
Textiles
Broken seams, missing buttons, sad teddy bears with no stuffing, holy jumpers, ripped jeans, etc.
Woodwork
Furniture, wooden toys, and garden items.
Chairs, small tables, wooden toys, ornamental woodwork, picture frames etc.
Mechanical
Damaged toys and tools, blunt loppers and shears, jammed hiking-poles, bent metalwork, anything that should work but doesn’t.
What can’t we repair?
White goods
Because of our insurance we can’t repair fridges, freezers, ovens, microwaves or washing machines.
Zips and alterations
We don’t do alterations or replace zips as we don’t want to undermine local alteration businesses. If you are looking for a professional clothing alteration service, see below:
